National Business Association Board Members

The National Business Association (NBA) added two new board members, Ken Yancey and Bryan Christopher Jackson, to their Board of Directors on May 4, 2022. NBA Board Members use their extensive experience and diverse backgrounds to help determine the best course of action for the NBA—the addition of new board members supports this mission by bringing more ideas as well as perspective.

Dr. Martin Walsh: Resident of Greenwood Village, Colorado. Board Member since 1988.

Dr. Walsh is a Self-Employed Management Consultant and Corporate Psychologist. His focus has been to work as a sounding board to the officer level and as a developer of individuals & the organization. Consulting to organizations large and small in a variety of industries in North America, Europe, and Asia. Typically, his consulting relationships last for years and result in an insider level of trust with an outsider’s perspective. Client list has included CVS, Target, Catholic Health East, Deluxe Entertainment, and Kohl’s.

Rick Foster: Resident of Valley View, Texas. Board Member since 2013 and President since 2016.

Mr. Foster is the President and Founder of Guardian Financial and the Foster Financial Group. He has been interviewed by numerous publications as a subject matter expert, including USA Today. Mr. Foster also has a twice weekly radio program, “Plain Talk-No Worries”, where he answers questions about retirement income and investment. He has been a senior marketing executive in the insurance industry for two decades and an entrepreneur for most of his career. Rick brings savvy and depth to the Board of the NBA—this is on clear display during Board discussions about issues of the self­-employed business owner.

Becky Richardson: Resident of Irving, Texas. Board Member and Treasurer since 2018.

Ms. Richardson brings her considerable financial experience to the NBA Board as both Board Member and Treasurer. She received her BS in Accounting in 1980 and has been a Financial Accountant for over 38 years. Ms. Richardson has been doing the financial accounting of the NBA for the past 6 years.

Ken Yancey: Resident of McKinney, Texas. Board member since 2022.

Mr. Yancey has spent his entire forty-year career serving and supporting small businesses. A former small business banker, Mr. Yancey was Executive Director of the National Business Association and joined SCORE in 1993 where he was CEO for 29 years. Under his leadership, SCORE grew into an economic development engine that helped entrepreneurs create hundreds of thousands of small businesses and jobs. After leaving SCORE he started Ken Yancey Consulting where he provides mentoring and executive coaching to business and non-profit leaders across the country.

Bryan C. Jackson, CFP®: Resident of Dallas, Texas. Board member since 2022.

Mr. Jackson is a capital markets professional who serves as a Senior Wealth Advisor with Beacon Pointe Advisors. Additionally, he is an Adjunct Professor & Program Director for the Certified Financial Planner ™ Program at Southern Methodist University. His clients choose to work with him because of his passion for helping them achieve their vision of financial independence and the overall positive impact he can provide. His experience and skill sets offer a distinct perspective to the NBA on managing personal and business finances for entrepreneurs and small business owners.
