This workshop is designed for local planners, businesses, economic development organizations and other data users who want to research local workforce and employment trends. During this training you will learn how to use the OnTheMap tool, which is a web-based mapping and reporting application that shows where workers are employed and where they live. It also provides companion reports on age, earnings, industry distributions, race, ethnicity, educational attainment, and sex. You will also learn about the new Business Dynamics Statics (BDS) Explorer, which is a web-based analysis tool that allows for the construction of tables and charts to compare and rank measures of business dynamics such as employment, job creation and destruction, and firm births and deaths across a wide range of establishment and firm characteristics. 

Eric Coyle presents this interactive webinar and serves as the Data Dissemination Specialist for the U.S. Census Bureau. He is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders through the
dissemination of Census data and information. Mr. Coyle’s primary responsibilities are to plan, coordinate, and implement data dissemination, and outreach. He conducts data access workshops and presentations every month to a variety of organizations, local governments, tribal nations, businesses, media, universities, etc.
